Andrew Lawrence

Lawrence bends around the stage like a gothic, intellectual version of Travis Bickle performing stand-up, but without the calming redemption of extreme violence. There’s a terrifying beauty to his language, as if David Peace were writing about the smashing of a feral comedian’s bitter dreams. Fun for all the family.’
The Times, August 2009

‘With the fractious energy born of frustration that puts one in mind of an evil Lee Evans merging with the verbal assaults of ‘equal opportunities offender’ Jerry Sadowitz, this taut, scrawny ginger comic, with his strangulated London twang, fires his ire any which way’
The Independent, August 2009.

John Fothergill

With his blend of cocky insults and slick banter, Fothergill has the experience to know how to command an audience. You're always in safe hands when this lively Geordie's on stage, which is undoubtedly why he's so sought-after as a compere.

Safe, though, also applies to his material, which never strays too far from well-worn paths and broad stereotypes. From time to time, he does surprise with a flash of originality - and his quickfire teasing often throws up a witty bon mot that wasn't in his script.

A reefer smoking 'king of the dole,' Nige has had a lot of time to muse on life and has come up with plenty of acute observations on subjects as diverse as his grandma's cat (Bin Laden) and alien abduction.

Lewis Schaffer - (view full page on him here)

“Bold”, “unpredictable”, “hilarious” – and those are just Lewis Schaffer’s words. Lewis Schaffer isn't in Britain as a tourist.

A short visit to London in 2000 went very, very wrong. Love and marriage and children - then heartache and divorce - took him away from his beloved New York, the greatest city in the world! Lewis Schaffer was dumped into a multi-occupancy council flat in Southeast London where, fighting to be a good dad, he is trapped in the UK.

Now Lewis Schaffer’s goal is to make the best of a bad situation – the British Way. “The British aren’t very friendly. It takes 10 years to make a friend in the UK. I‘ve been here nine years: My friend is coming.”
